Hi Mark,

Upon second look I did notice that version number as well as it now says "Wireless-G Router with 2 Phone Ports"(If it said this before I never noticed it)

While I am protective of my privacy rights I do not feel this infringed upon them at all. More so I feel T-Mobile should automatically update their software when needed without the end user having to research and manually make updates for a service they are selling on a month to month.

The only time I lost my telephone connection in recent times has been when my internet has gone down. It then restores itself upon the internet regaining signal so I have no idea what the update was for.

Hi John,

I screwed up and forgot to look at the firmware version before resetting my router. After resetting, the version of the firmware is 1.00.15, which was supposedly released just last week. My guess is it had some important fixes in it, or, T-Mobile implemented a new 'auto-update' system somehow.

I don't understand how they're doing it, but I did notice that my IP was staying the same for a long time - months. So they would be able to find me via that. Perhaps they're pushing updates automatically because they know the assigned IPs of the @Home subscribers? How that's possible I don't know since I have a dynamically assigned IP from Comcast cable. I may setup a little web server and see how long it lasts at this IP : )

Mark,

I just received the same telephone call, actually at just about the same time you received yours(taking into consideration the time zone difference)

I reset my router and cannot identify anything new or different. Let me know if you can?
